Advanced CGC · CGCA Title

AKC Community Canine

The advanced level of Canine Good Citizen — tested in real-world community settings like dog shows. Dogs who pass earn the official CGCA title.

Real-world manners, officially tested

Community Canine takes the good manners from CGC and applies them in everyday community situations. The test is administered by CGC evaluators in settings where real-world distractions are present — so passing proves your dog is genuinely reliable out in the world, not just in a classroom.

Earns the CGCA title Tested in real-world settings

The 10-Step Community Canine Test

3

Walk Through a Crowd

Stays under control on a loose leash while navigating through a crowd of people.

4

Past a Distraction Dog

Walks past another dog without pulling away or losing focus on the owner.

5

Sit-Stay in a Group

6

7

Leave It

8

Stay at a Distance

Down or sit stay on a 20-ft line while the owner walks away and picks up an item.

Don't take our word for it — hear from the families we've helped.

"Trinity has been fantastic in helping us train our new Frenchie Moose. The evaluation and plan was perfectly tailored to what he needed at our home. For example, we started with training to keep this guy off our in-ground pool cover. But we also needed help with socialization before getting another puppy later this summer and preparation for boarding him. We are thrilled at his progress as she finds new ways to motivate and train Moose. He LOVES when she comes with the good treats. Can’t wait to continue the working relationship once the new puppy joins the family. "
